Interested in a career that combines science, technology, and the outdoors? The National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) is your trusted resource for surveying and geospatial education. From high school outreach to university programs and professional certifications, NSPS supports learners at every stage. Colleges and universities The NSPS maintains a comprehensive list of ABET-accredited colleges and universities offering degree programs in surveying, geomatics, and geospatial sciences. These institutions prepare students for careers in boundary surveying, construction layout, GIS, geodesy, and more. Use our directory to find surveying programs that align with your goals and meet professional standards. Student Chapters The NSPS encourages all schools with surveying, mapping and related curriculum in the geospatial sciences to form and actively support their local Student Chapter. Through joining the Student Chapter, students can participate in the national organization, communicate with leaders of their profession, exhibit in State and National conferences, gain valuable contacts in their area of interest and investigate career opportunities. Scholarships The NSPS awards annual scholarships to students pursuing degrees in surveying, mapping, geospatial science, and GIS. These scholarships help reduce financial barriers and encourage academic achievement in STEM-focused fields. FAQWe support accreditation for surveying and geomatics programs through ABET, provide scholarships, host student competitions and create outreach opportunities like youth merit badge programs. Students in surveying, geomatics, GIS, geodesy and related programs can apply. As ABET’s Lead Society for surveying and geomatics, NSPS reviews and supports academic programs to ensure students get top-quality education. Yes - webinars, workshops, conferences and professional development tied to certification renewals. We sure do.
