| Boundary Line Locations and Maintenance" without being a licensed Surveyor |

I was wondering what NSPS and the surveying community's stance is on foresters and forestry companies who perform "Boundary Line Locations and Maintenance" without being a licensed surveyor or having one on staff. This seems to be a common and accepted practice in all states. The forester will read deeds, look for existing corner monumentation, locate it, make a boundary line determination and then mark the boundary line. I don't see how this isn't construed as surveying without a license.
I believe NSPS and all of the other state associations should try and educate the forestry community on the importance of having a licensed surveyor determine and mark the boundary before the forester "maintains" or logs up to the property line.
